TATTOO AFTERCARE
always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before touching your tattoo!
remove your "second skin" bandage 2-4 days after the tattoo. if you see any redness or irritation around the edges of the bandage, like a rash, you may be allergic. remove immediately and contact me! once the bandage is removed, clean the surface of your skin with a soft, unscented soap (something you know you are not sensitive to!). rinse with cool water. gently tap dry with a clean towel or paper towel. gentleness is key.
clean in this way 2-3 times daily until the tattoo is healed (about 3 weeks to a month).
2-3 days after removing the bandage or when your skin starts to dry, you can start applying lotion. apply a small amount of unscented lotion to your tattoo and spread gently. the point is to keep your tattoo hydrated in order to minimize scabbing and itching. too much moisturizer will suffocate your skin and could cause an infection.
DO NOT use vaseline, polysporin or any antibiotic ointments.
DO NOT scratch your tattoo or peel off scabbing. if the itching is unbearable, you can tap lightly on your skin.
DO NOT submerge in water for an extended period of time (no baths or swimming) for 3 weeks or until the tattoo is healed.
please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns! ♥
